First Knives

These are the first 2 knives that I made as gifts for my dad and brother. These solidified my interest in knifemaking. The smaller knife is 1/8" O1 tool steel, while the larger is 3/32" 1095 carbon steel. They both sport stablized walnut burl handles.

Nessmuk

This is my first hunting knife that I made. I love it. It's a nessmuk styled knife. They are great for skinning with the large sweeping blade. 3/16" 1095 carbon steel with a stabilized walnut burl handle.

Simple knife

Honestly, this was a BASIC knife that I shaped to test my homemade 2-brick forge and for no other reason. It was intentionally quick and rough, and the handle matches. However, it quickly found a home in my fireplace box because it created awesome shavings and kindling. 1095 carbon steel and paracord handle.

Seax

I loved this style of blade, just visually, from a TV show. I thought it was a Viking style since it was on a Viking show, but I learned the broke-back seax is actually a Saxon design! It's purely a stabbing weapon, and not a really good slicer due to the angle of the edge and handle. But I love it so much even though it's large and largely impractical. 3/16" 1095 carbon steel with a stabilized walnut burl handle.

Babymuk

This is my babymuk--a much smaller nessmuk. I made it as a personal hunting knife after I realized that the big nessmuk was almost silly! A lot of firsts on this knife. This is my first hidden tang and first hamon attempt. 1/8" 1095 carbon steel, bocote wood and brass handle, etched in apple cider vinegar.
